This course covers the fundamental of the power plant technology. Topics include steam, solar and wind power plants. The theory of operation and performance evaluation of these power plants are demonstrated. The main components of these power plants are presented and discussed to identify its functions, types and potential for improvement. Modern steam power plant technology is emphasized. This includes Rankine cycle with its modifications, supercritical and ultra-supercritical steam power technology.
